Use wash chemistry only where the bottle and residue justify it

Industrial bottle washing projects often mention detergent, caustic wash, temperature and contact time before the real contamination has been defined. A better specification starts with the bottle material, the previous product, the visible residue, odour, label adhesive and the required condition before filling or rework. The process can then be reviewed without publishing unsupported chemical concentrations or cleaning guarantees.

For clean new containers, water rinsing or air rinsing may be enough. For returned bottles, visible contamination or stubborn adhesive, the project may need a stronger washing route, a label-removal stage, a wash-and-dry route, or sample testing before any machine is confirmed.

Residue testing records to prepare

A small sample set can be more useful than a long written brief. Include best-case, average and worst-case bottles, then capture the same evidence before and after any wash or label-removal test. Where figures are not verified, keep them as test conditions rather than marketing claims.
